He joined UP Irrigation Department in 1965 in Yamuna Valley Projects Organisation at Rishikesh as a Mechanical Engineer but keen desire of entrepreneurship did not allow him to serve in a Government Department. He resigned from service in 1972 and raised a firm ‘Hillways Engineering’ and started to fabricate steel super structures of bridges. Hillways Engineering started to participate in tendering process of bridges in 1978 and got so many assignments to construct bridges. So many steel structure and suspension bridges were got constructed. One of these is Ram Jhula Bridge which was completed in 1986 for Kumbh Mela 1986. As the two sons Mr Ajay Sharma and Mr Amit Sharma of Sh Mohan Lal came together Hillways Engineering started to construct roads too. In 2009 Hillways Engineering converted in ‘Hillways Construction Company Pvt. Ltd.’. HCCPL accelerated the momentum and started to construct buildings, roads and bridges in the state of Uttarakhand and Madhya Prasesh.
Having more than 55 years of experience in the construction works of Roads and Bridges. He is acting as Managing Director of the company at present and responsible for overall administration, particularly looking after the different prestigious Bridge Projects in the state of Uttarakhand to ensure best quality work and completion in stipulated time.

Born and brought up in Rishikesh, after completion of study in civil engineering, joined Hillways Engineering firm raised by his father. Hillways Engineering was constructing bridges only so far. But Mr Ajay Sharma enhanced the scope of firm and started road and building construction too. In 1996 firm converted into a construction company i.e Hillways Engineering converted into Hillways Construction Company Private Limited. So many commercial buildings were constructed for ‘MP Mandi Board’ in Madhya Pradesh. Having more than 25 years of experience in construction works of roads, bridges and buildings. He is a very keen, energetic, nice decision making, with a long term vision. He looks after allocation and mobilization of resources, liaison work to facilitate executives for successful completion of projects. The company is able to complete the various big projects of NHIDCL, BRO, PWD in the State of Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand etc under control of the Director thus achieving a considerable financial turnover of the company year by year.

He took over the financial and economical part of Hillways Engineering firm. Effective financial control enhanced the turn over of firm and firm converted into a construction company i.e ‘Hillways Engineering’ firm into ‘Hillways Construction Company Private Limited.’. Having more than 22 years experience in road and bridges construction. The Director is over all incharge of all administrative and financial activities, responsible for getting all sorts of bids being invited in the State of Uttarkhand and Madhya Pradesh prepared submission and follow up till the allotment is made in favour of the company. All the financial matters are to be handled by Director. An effective financial management is the main factor to complete the all contract agreements with good quality and in stipulated time.
